Possible Causes
Full water collection tank, Blocked water level sensor or float in tank, Faulty tank presence microswitch, Blocked condensate hose to tank or drain
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before removing covers or accessing internal hoses.
- Empty the water tank: Pull out the water collection tank (usually at the top left or bottom front on Hoover condenser and heat pump dryers). Empty it completely and reinsert it firmly until it clicks.
- Clean the tank and float: Remove any lint, detergent residue, or scale from inside the tank. If there is a float mechanism, ensure it moves freely and is not stuck.
- Check tank seating and switch: Ensure the tank is pushed fully home. Some models have a small microswitch or sensor that detects the tank. Inspect the switch area for lint build-up and gently clean it. Verify the actuator tab on the tank is not broken.
- Inspect condensate hose: On models with a hose from the condenser tray to the tank or external drain, check for kinks or blockages. Clear any lint or sludge by flushing with warm water (with the machine unplugged and hose removed).
- Test again: Reconnect power and run a short cycle. If E02 returns and the tank and hoses are clear, the level sensor or tank switch may be faulty and require replacement.
