Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data on main PCB, Faulty main control board, Incorrect or failed firmware update, Power surge damage
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before accessing the control board.
- Power reset: Leave the dryer unplugged for at least 10–15 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Reconnect and test. Sometimes transient faults clear.
- Check supply stability: Ensure the wall socket and circuit are providing stable voltage. Avoid using long extension leads.
- Inspect PCB: Remove the top cover and control panel to access the main PCB. Look for obvious damage such as burnt components, cracked solder joints, or water ingress. If present, the board will likely need replacement.
- EEPROM/board replacement: E09 often requires replacing the main control board, sometimes pre-programmed for your Hoover model. This is best done by a Hoover service agent to ensure correct configuration.
