Possible Causes
Faulty exhaust NTC sensor, Loose or corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring from exhaust NTC to PCB, Control board sensor circuit failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect mains power before removing rear or side panels.
- Locate exhaust NTC: On some Hoover models, a second NTC is fitted on the exhaust duct or near the condenser outlet. Access via rear or side panel.
- Check connection: Ensure the NTC plug is secure and free of corrosion. Clean and reseat.
- Measure resistance: Use a multimeter to check NTC resistance at room temperature. Compare with service specifications. Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
- Inspect wiring: Trace the harness back to the PCB, repairing any damage.
- PCB diagnosis: If the NTC and wiring are good, the control board may be misreading the sensor and require replacement.
