Possible Causes
Shorted door lock coil, Faulty door lock triac on PCB, Wiring short between door lock and PCB, Control board damage from door lock failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before working on the door lock or control board.
- Inspect door lock: Remove the front panel or door seal clamp to access the door lock assembly. Check for signs of burning or melting.
- Test lock coil: Measure resistance across the lock coil terminals. Compare with service data; a very low or infinite reading indicates a fault. Replace the door lock if defective.
- Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lock to the PCB for shorts to chassis or between conductors.
- PCB evaluation: If the lock and wiring are good, the triac or driver on the PCB may be damaged. Board repair or replacement is usually required.
