How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before disassembly. Wear gloves to avoid cuts from sharp metal edges.
- Isolate noise: Run the dryer briefly (with panels on) to identify whether the noise comes from the front, rear, or bottom. Then unplug.
- Access drum supports: Remove the top and front panel to expose the drum supports and idler pulley.
- Inspect rollers: Spin each drum support roller by hand. Replace any that are noisy, rough, or seized.
- Check idler pulley: Rotate the idler pulley; if it squeals or feels rough, replace it.
- Lubrication: Do not use oil on sealed bearings; replace worn parts instead. Light silicone grease may be used only where specified by the manufacturer.
