Dryer powers on but will not start a cycle when Start/Pause is pressed; a clicking sound may be heard.

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the front panel or door lock.

• Check door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and that you hear a positive click from the latch. Replace a broken door catch or hook.
• Inspect hinges: Tighten loose hinges and adjust the door so it aligns correctly with the cabinet.
• Test door switch: Access the door switch/interlock from behind the front panel. Check for loose connectors and test continuity with a multimeter when the door is closed.
• Replace interlock: If the switch does not change state or is physically damaged, replace the door lock assembly with a genuine Hotpoint-Ariston part.
