Possible Causes
Stuck closed cycling thermostat, Faulty NTC sensor reading low temperature, Heater relay stuck on, Blocked airflow causing localized overheating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and let it cool. Overheating can be a fire hazard.
- Clean airflow path: Remove lint from filter, condenser, and exhaust ducts to ensure proper cooling air flow.
- Inspect thermostats: Access the heater housing and locate the cycling thermostat. Test it for correct operation (opens at specified temperature) using a multimeter and heat source, or replace if in doubt.
- Check NTC sensor: Test the NTC resistance at room temperature and compare with specifications. Replace if out of range.
- Control board check: If mechanical controls are good, the heater relay on the main board may be sticking. Replace the control board if the relay is faulty.
