Possible Causes
Failed heater relay on main PCB, Open heating element, Loose heater wiring connector, Burnt terminal at heater block
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Heating components can remain hot after use; allow to cool.
- Check basic airflow: Clean lint filter and ducts to ensure the heater is not being shut down by overheat protection.
- Access heater assembly: Remove the rear panel to access the heater housing. Inspect the heater terminals and wiring for burning or loose connections.
- Continuity test heater: Disconnect the heater terminals and measure resistance across the element. An open circuit indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- Inspect relay and board: On the main control board, locate the heater relay. Look for burnt contacts or tracks. If the relay is visibly damaged or does not click when the dryer calls for heat (requires live testing by a professional), replace the control board.
- Secure connections: Tighten or replace any overheated spade connectors at the heater block.
Warning: Do not bypass safety thermostats or relays; this is a fire hazard.
