Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring, Faulty moisture sensor module, Poor grounding of drum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components.
- Clean sensor bars: Inside the drum, locate the two metal moisture sensor strips (usually near the lint filter opening). Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and a bit of white vinegar or mild detergent to remove fabric softener residue.
- Check wiring: Access the back of the sensor bars from behind the front panel. Ensure the wires are securely attached and not broken.
- Inspect for damage: Replace the sensor bars if they are physically damaged or heavily corroded.
- Test in timed mode: Run a timed (non-sensor) cycle. If the dryer works normally, the issue is likely limited to the moisture sensing circuit.
