Hotpoint
Restricted Airflow / Partial Heating
Dryer drum turns but clothes take very long to dry, exhaust air is only mildly warm

Possible Causes
Clogged lint filter, Blocked condenser unit (condenser models), Partially blocked vent hose or wall duct, Weak heater element (partially failed coil)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any covers or ducts.
Steps to check:
- Clean lint filter: Remove and wash the filter with warm soapy water if it has a waxy film (from fabric softeners). Dry fully before refitting.
- Clean condenser: On condenser models, remove the condenser and flush it thoroughly under running water to remove lint.
- Inspect venting: On vented models, disconnect the vent hose and check for lint build‑up, kinks, or crushed sections. Clean or replace as needed. Check the wall vent flap opens freely.
- Test with hose removed: Run a short cycle with the vent hose temporarily disconnected (exhausting into a safe, well‑ventilated area). If drying improves, the external venting is restricted.
