Dryer powers on but will not start cycle when Start button is pressed

Steps to check:

• Check display: Look for a key or padlock symbol indicating child lock. Disable according to the user manual (often holding two buttons).
• Door closure: Ensure the door closes firmly and the latch engages. Adjust the door catch plate if the door feels loose.
• Test door switch: Access the door switch behind the front panel. With a multimeter, check continuity when the door is closed. Replace if it does not close electrically.
• Check Start button: On mechanical models, test the start switch for continuity when pressed. On electronic models, inspect the tact switch on the PCB.
