Hotpoint
Moisture Sensor or Control Fault
Dryer runs continuously and does not reach end of cycle, clothes already dry

Possible Causes
Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring, Faulty control board moisture sensing circuit, Incorrect program selection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components.
Steps to check:
- Check program: Ensure you are using an automatic sensor program, not a timed program that may run longer than needed.
- Clean sensor bars: Locate the metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum (often near the lint filter). Clean them with a soft cloth and white vinegar to remove residues.
- Inspect wiring: From behind the front panel, check the wires connected to the sensor bars for breaks or loose connections.
If cleaning and wiring checks do not help, the control board may not be interpreting the sensor correctly.
