Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing the control panel.
Steps to check:
- Inspect knob: Pull off the knob and check for cracks in the plastic hub. Replace if damaged.
- Check shaft: Ensure the selector shaft on the panel is not broken or wobbly. Tighten mounting screws.
- Test encoder: If the knob and shaft are intact but programs do not change, the encoder on the PCB may be faulty and the UI board may need replacement.
