Possible Causes
Tripped one‑shot thermal fuse on heater, Blocked lint filter or condenser causing poor airflow, Blocked or crushed exhaust duct (vented models), Failed cycling thermostat stuck closed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool fully before working near the heater.
Steps to check:
- Clean user filters: Remove and thoroughly clean the lint filter. On condenser models, remove the condenser unit and wash out lint under running water. Let it dry before refitting.
- Check venting (vented models): Inspect the exhaust hose for kinks, crushing, or lint blockage. Clean or replace if necessary. Ensure the wall vent flap opens freely.
- Access thermal cut‑out: Remove the rear panel to access the heater assembly. Locate the thermal fuse/thermal cut‑out (small disc or inline device). Some are one‑shot and must be replaced if open.
- Test continuity: With a multimeter, check continuity across the thermal cut‑out and thermostats. Replace any that are open circuit.
- Investigate cause: If a thermal fuse has blown, always correct airflow issues before fitting a new one to avoid repeat failure.
