How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately stop the dryer, unplug it, and do not use it until the cause is found. Fire risk is present.
- Inspect lint filter and ducts: Clean the lint filter and check for lint accumulation in the filter housing and exhaust ducts.
- Check heater area: Remove the rear panel and inspect the heater housing for lint buildup or melted plastic from foreign objects. Carefully vacuum lint without damaging wiring.
- Inspect belt and motor: Look for signs of belt slippage (burnt rubber smell, black dust) and check the motor for overheating or burnt odor. Replace worn belts and investigate seized drum components.
If the smell persists after cleaning and inspection, discontinue use and have the dryer inspected by a qualified technician.
