Possible Causes
Faulty start button, Defective door switch, Broken start relay on control board, Child lock function enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing controls or wiring.
- Check user settings: Ensure the child lock is not active (refer to the user manual for the key combination to disable). Confirm a program is selected and the door is fully closed.
- Listen for relay click: When pressing start, listen for a faint click from the control board. No click may indicate a faulty start button or relay.
- Test door switch: With a multimeter, check continuity of the door switch when the door is closed. Replace the door switch if it does not close properly.
- Inspect start button / interface: Remove the control panel and check the start button contacts or touch sensor board. Replace the user interface if the button is physically damaged or unresponsive.
If the door switch and interface are good but the dryer still will not start, the main control board may have a failed start relay and require replacement.
