Possible Causes

Blocked exhaust duct, Failed or stuck high-limit thermostat, Faulty exhaust NTC sensor, Restricted internal air passages

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. Components may be hot; allow cooling time.

  • Clean airflow path: Remove lint from the filter, filter housing, and internal ducts. On vented models, clean the entire exhaust duct to the outside.
  • Inspect high-limit thermostat: Access the heater housing or exhaust duct and locate the high-limit thermostat. Some are manual reset (small red button); press gently to reset if tripped. If it trips repeatedly, find and correct the overheating cause.
  • Test exhaust NTC: Measure resistance of the exhaust temperature sensor at room temperature. Replace if open, shorted, or out of specification.

After restoring airflow and replacing any failed thermostats or sensors, test the dryer. Persistent E11 may indicate a control board sensing issue requiring professional service.
