Possible Causes

Open-circuit NTC sensor, shorted NTC sensor, damaged wiring to NTC, faulty main control board input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool completely before working near the heater or exhaust duct.

Locate and test NTC:

  • Access the exhaust duct: Remove the rear panel. The NTC (temperature sensor) is usually mounted on or near the heater housing or exhaust duct with two wires.
  • Visual inspection: Check the sensor and connector for signs of overheating, corrosion, or broken wires. Reseat the connector firmly.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the NTC and measure its resistance at room temperature. Typical values are in the 5–20 kΩ range (check Indesit service data if available). An open circuit or near 0 Ω indicates a faulty sensor.
  • Check harness to PCB: Follow the wires from the NTC to the main control board. Look for pinched or broken wires and repair as needed.

Replace if faulty: If the NTC is out of specification, replace it with a genuine Indesit thermistor/NTC sensor. Reassemble, restore power, and run a test cycle to confirm the error is cleared.
