Possible Causes

Faulty drum/inlet NTC sensor, loose sensor connection, damaged wiring harness, defective control board analog input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect mains power and wait for the appliance to cool.

Check the drum/inlet sensor:

  • Access front/inlet area: Depending on model, remove the top and front panel to access the sensor mounted near the drum front or air inlet.
  • Inspect sensor and wiring: Look for broken sensor body, loose connector, or chafed wires. Reseat the connector.
  • Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with known NTC values (similar to exhaust NTC). Replace if open, shorted, or far out of range.
  • Check continuity to PCB: Use a multimeter to ensure both sensor wires have continuity from the sensor plug to the control board plug.

After replacement: Install the new sensor, reassemble the cabinet, restore power, and run a full drying cycle to verify stable operation without F04.
