Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the dryer from mains before removing the control panel.
Panel and wiring checks:
- Power reset: Leave unplugged for 10 minutes, then reconnect. If F06 returns immediately, proceed.
- Remove control fascia: Take off the top cover and carefully unclip the front control fascia to access the user interface board and ribbon cable.
- Inspect ribbon cable: Look for kinks, burns, or corrosion on the ribbon contacts. Reseat both ends firmly. Replace the ribbon if damaged.
- Check for moisture: Ensure no condensation or detergent residue is present on the control board. Gently clean with isopropyl alcohol if needed and allow to dry completely.
- Button test: Press each button and feel for proper click. Stuck buttons can cause constant keypress detection; replace the fascia or keypad if necessary.
If unresolved: If wiring and keypad are good, the UI board or main PCB may be defective and should be replaced with genuine Indesit parts. This is best done by a qualified technician.
