Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and be prepared for water spillage when accessing the base.
Check pump and wiring:
- Access pump: Remove the lower front or side panel to reach the pump assembly in the base tray.
- Inspect for blockage: Remove lint, hair, or debris from the pump inlet and impeller. Ensure the impeller spins freely.
- Test pump coil: Disconnect the pump and measure resistance across its terminals. An open circuit indicates a failed pump that must be replaced.
- Check wiring harness: Inspect the harness from pump to PCB for damage or loose connectors.
If pump and wiring are OK: The pump driver (triac) on the main PCB may be faulty. Replacement of the control board is then required, typically by a professional.
