Possible Causes
Snapped drive belt, belt slipped off drum or motor pulley, worn idler pulley, misaligned drum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing any panels.
Check belt condition:
- Spin drum by hand: Open the door and try to rotate the drum. If it spins very freely with little resistance, the belt may be broken.
- Access belt: Remove the top and rear panel to inspect the belt around the drum and motor pulley.
- Replace belt if broken: If the belt is snapped or badly worn, remove it and fit a new Indesit-compatible drive belt, routing it around the drum, motor pulley, and idler pulley as per the service diagram.
- Check pulleys: Ensure the idler and motor pulleys spin freely and are not seized or wobbling. Replace any faulty pulley.
Reassemble and test: Refit panels, restore power, and run a short cycle to confirm the drum rotates normally.
