Possible Causes

Coated or dirty sensor bars, broken sensor wiring, faulty sensor input on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before cleaning sensor bars.

Clean sensor bars:

  • Locate the two metal strips inside the drum, usually near the door opening.
  • Clean them thoroughly with a soft cloth and white vinegar or mild abrasive pad to remove any waxy or soapy residue.

Check wiring:

  • From inside or behind the front panel, inspect the wires connected to the sensor bars for breaks or loose connectors. Repair as needed.

Test: Run an automatic cycle with a normal mixed load and verify that the dryer now stops when clothes are dry.
