Advertisements
Possible Causes
Dirty condenser or heat exchanger, damp lint in filter housing, stagnant water in sump, poor ventilation around dryer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before deep cleaning.
Deodorizing and cleaning:
- Clean lint filter and housing: Wash the filter with warm soapy water and clean the housing with a damp cloth.
- Clean condenser/heat exchanger: Remove and thoroughly rinse the condenser. Allow it to dry before refitting.
- Clean sump and tank: Empty the water tank and rinse with a mild disinfectant solution. If accessible, wipe out the sump area beneath the condenser.
- Run a hot maintenance cycle: With the drum empty, run a high-temperature cycle for 20–30 minutes to help dry and freshen internal surfaces.
Ventilation: Ensure the room is well ventilated so moisture does not linger around the dryer.
