Possible Causes
Loose or cracked blower wheel, Lint or debris in blower housing, Worn motor bearings, Blower wheel rubbing housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the blower or motor.
- Access the blower housing: Remove the rear or lower front panel to reach the blower wheel attached to the motor shaft.
- Inspect the blower wheel: Check for cracks, missing fins, or wobble on the shaft. Tighten the retaining nut if loose or replace the wheel if damaged.
- Clean the housing: Remove lint and debris from the blower housing that may cause imbalance or rubbing.
- Evaluate motor bearings: Spin the motor shaft by hand; if it feels rough or makes grinding noises, the motor bearings are worn and the motor should be replaced.
