Dryer runs but automatic cycles end too soon; clothes are still damp when the cycle finishes.

Possible Causes

Dirty or coated moisture sensor bars, Broken moisture sensor wiring, Failed moisture sensor, Incorrect cycle selection or low load size

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing wiring behind the drum front.

  • Clean sensor bars: Inside the drum, locate the two metal moisture sensor bars and clean them thoroughly with rubbing alcohol to remove fabric softener residue.
  • Avoid very small loads: Very small loads may not contact the sensors enough; use timed dry for such loads.
  • Inspect wiring: Access the back of the front bulkhead and ensure the sensor wires are connected and not broken.
  • Replace sensor assembly if needed: If cleaning and wiring checks do not help, replace the moisture sensor assembly.
