JennAir
Extended Dry Times
Dryer runs but takes too long to dry clothes; loads are still damp after a full cycle.

Possible Causes
Partially restricted vent, Lint buildup in blower housing, Weak heating element, Faulty moisture sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before removing panels or disconnecting the vent.
- Verify load size and settings: Avoid overloading the drum and ensure the correct heat setting is selected.
- Clean the vent system: Disconnect the vent hose and clean it thoroughly. Check the exterior vent hood for obstructions and ensure the flap opens fully.
- Inspect internal airflow: Remove panels and vacuum lint from the blower housing and internal ducts.
- Check heating performance: Run the dryer on a timed high-heat cycle and feel the exhaust air. It should be hot and strong. If heat cycles off too quickly, test thermostats and element.
- Clean moisture sensors: Wipe the moisture sensor bars inside the drum with rubbing alcohol to remove residue that can affect automatic cycles.
