Possible Causes
Failed electronic control board relay, Shorted control board component, Power surge damage, Loose harness connection at control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer or switch off the circuit breaker before opening any panels.
- Power reset: Disconnect power for 5 minutes to discharge the control. Restore power and attempt to start a cycle. If F01 returns immediately, proceed with inspection.
- Access the control board: Remove the top panel or console back cover (varies by model). Locate the main electronic control board (usually in the console area).
- Check wiring harnesses: Inspect all connectors going to the control board. Ensure they are fully seated and not corroded or burned. Reseat each connector one at a time.
- Inspect for visible damage: Look for burned spots, bulging components, or melted solder joints on the board. Any visible damage indicates the board should be replaced.
- Replace the control board if needed: Note the part number on the existing board, disconnect all harnesses, remove mounting screws, and install the new board in the same orientation. Reconnect harnesses carefully, reassemble the console, restore power, and test operation.
