Possible Causes
Loose harness between main control and motor, Faulty motor control circuit on main board, Electrical noise or interference, Damaged wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before inspecting wiring or boards.
- Inspect motor harness: Access the lower rear or front of the dryer to reach the motor. Follow the wiring harness from the motor back to the control board and ensure all connectors are tight.
- Check for damage: Look for chafed insulation, melted connectors, or signs of overheating along the harness.
- Reseat control connectors: At the main control board, disconnect and reconnect the motor-related connectors to ensure good contact.
- Test operation: Restore power and attempt to start a cycle. If F71 reappears, the main control board’s motor drive circuit may be defective and require replacement.
