Possible Causes

Tripped half of double-pole breaker, Loose L2 connection at terminal block, Damaged power cord conductor, Faulty wall outlet or house wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the breaker and unplug the dryer before touching any electrical connections. 240V can be lethal.

  • Reset the breaker: Ensure the dryer’s double-pole breaker is fully ON. Reset it by switching OFF then ON.
  • Inspect terminal block: Remove the rear cover and check the L2 connection for looseness or burn marks. Tighten screws and replace any burned connectors or wire.
  • Check the power cord: Look for discoloration, melting, or cuts near the plug and terminal block. Replace the cord if any damage is found.
  • Verify outlet voltage: Have a qualified person measure voltage at the outlet. You should have approximately 240V across the two hot legs. If one leg is missing, the outlet or wiring must be repaired by an electrician.
  • Test dryer: After corrections, reassemble the terminal cover, restore power, and run a heated cycle to confirm proper operation.
