Possible Causes

Blocked exhaust vent, failed cycling thermostat, stuck heater relay on control board, restricted lint filter housing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Unplug dryer and shut off gas. Heating components can be very hot.

Steps:

  • Clean lint path: Thoroughly clean the lint screen, lint chute, blower housing, and exhaust vent.
  • Check cycling thermostat: Test the cycling thermostat on the blower housing for proper opening/closing temperatures (per service manual). Replace if stuck closed.
  • Inspect heater relay: On the main control board, check for a welded heater relay (contacts stuck closed). Replace the control board if the relay is stuck.
