Possible Causes

Failed user interface (UI) control panel, stuck or shorted keypad button, damaged ribbon cable between UI and main control, loose UI harness connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety First: Disconnect power before removing any console or top panels.

Steps:

  • Check for stuck buttons: Press each button on the control panel several times. If any button feels stuck or does not click, the UI may be faulty.
  • Power reset: Unplug the dryer for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and test. Intermittent UI glitches can sometimes clear.
  • Access the console: Remove the screws securing the control console (often at the back or inside the top). Carefully tilt the console forward.
  • Inspect ribbon cable: Locate the flat ribbon cable between the UI and main control. Reseat it by unplugging and firmly reconnecting. Check for cracks, kinks, or corrosion on the contacts.
  • Check for moisture or detergent residue: Wipe any residue from the UI board and connectors with a dry cloth. Do not use water.
  • Replace UI if needed: If F02 persists and the ribbon and main control look good, replace the user interface assembly. Transfer any knobs or trim from the old panel.

Note: If both UI and main control are suspect, professional diagnosis is recommended to avoid unnecessary parts replacement.
