Possible Causes
Broken moisture sensor bar, disconnected sensor harness, corroded sensor terminals, failed main control sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug dryer before servicing.
Steps:
- Visual check: Inspect the moisture sensor bars inside the drum for cracks, breaks, or missing screws.
- Check harness: Access the back side of the sensor bars and ensure the harness is connected and not damaged.
- Continuity test: With the harness disconnected, measure continuity across each bar and its terminal. Replace the sensor assembly if open.
- Clean contacts: Lightly clean the sensor terminals and connectors with electrical contact cleaner if corroded.
- Control board: If the sensor and wiring are intact and F29 persists, the main control board may not be detecting the sensor and could require replacement.
