Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Turn off the breaker before inspecting the terminal block. Use a multimeter only if you are familiar with electrical safety.
- Step 1 – Verify supply voltage: With power ON and using a multimeter, measure voltage at the dryer outlet: 240 VAC across the two hot legs and ~120 VAC from each hot leg to neutral. If readings are low, contact an electrician.
- Step 2 – Inspect terminal block: Turn power OFF. Remove the rear access cover and inspect the terminal block where the power cord connects. Tighten any loose screws and look for burnt or melted terminals.
- Step 3 – Check power cord: Inspect the cord for damage, overheating, or discoloration at the plug or terminal ends. Replace if compromised.
- Step 4 – Avoid extension cords: Ensure the dryer is plugged directly into a dedicated 240 V outlet, not through an extension cord or power strip.
If line voltage is correct and connections are solid but F31 persists, the main control board’s voltage sensing circuit may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
