Possible Causes
Defective door switch contacts, Misaligned door causing incomplete switch engagement, Broken door hinge causing sagging door, Damaged door switch actuator
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before inspection.
Steps:
- Lift door slightly: With the door closed, gently lift up on the handle and try starting the dryer. If it starts briefly, the door is sagging and hinges or strike need adjustment or replacement.
- Check hinge screws: Tighten any loose hinge screws on the door and cabinet.
- Inspect switch actuator: Open the door and locate the switch plunger. Ensure it is not broken or stuck. Clean any lint buildup around it.
- Replace door switch if intermittent: If the dryer only starts when pressing on the door or switch, replace the door switch with an OEM LG part.
