Possible Causes
Momentary power outage, Loose power cord connection, Tripped breaker or weak circuit, Faulty outlet or power cord
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If you smell burning or see scorch marks at the outlet, stop and call an electrician.
Steps:
- Reset cycle: Press any button to clear PF, then restart the desired cycle.
- Check power source: Verify the breaker is fully on (for electric dryers, both poles of the 240V breaker). Reset if tripped.
- Inspect cord and outlet: Unplug the dryer and inspect the cord for damage or burns. Check the outlet for signs of overheating. Tighten the terminal screws on the dryer cord block if loose (with power disconnected).
- Avoid extension cords: Plug the dryer directly into a dedicated outlet.
