Possible Causes
Failed condenser thermistor, Loose thermistor connector on heat pump module, Moisture or corrosion on sensor, Faulty heat pump control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Do not work on sealed refrigeration components.
Steps:
- Access condenser area: Remove the lower front panel or rear panel (model dependent) to access the condenser/heat pump assembly.
- Inspect thermistor wiring: Locate the thermistor on the condenser coil or nearby bracket. Check for loose or corroded connectors and reseat them.
- Clean condenser: Use a soft brush and vacuum to remove lint and dust from the condenser fins. Do not bend fins.
- Replace thermistor if faulty: If the sensor is physically damaged or tests out of spec, replace it with the correct LG part.
- Professional service: If tE4 persists, the heat pump module or control board may be defective and should be serviced by a qualified technician.
