Possible Causes
Moisture ingress into control panel, Loose or oxidized ribbon cable, Faulty user interface PCB, Electrical noise from poor grounding
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the dryer is installed in a very humid room, allow it to dry out with the door open and power disconnected for several hours.
- Inspect connections: Remove the control fascia and reseat the ribbon cable and connectors between the UI and main board.
- Clean contacts: If safe to do so, gently clean connector contacts with electronic contact cleaner and allow to dry.
- Check grounding: Ensure the dryer is properly earthed according to local electrical codes.
- Replace UI board: If erratic behavior continues, the user interface PCB is likely defective and should be replaced.
