Possible Causes

Damp lint buildup in condenser, Standing water in sump or tank, Infrequent cleaning of filter and condenser, Dryer stored in humid environment

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer before cleaning internal components.

  • Clean lint filter and housing: Wash the filter with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. Wipe the filter housing with a mild disinfectant (do not soak electrical parts).
  • Clean condenser/heat exchanger: Remove and rinse the condenser thoroughly. Allow it to dry before reinstalling.
  • Empty and clean water tank: Rinse the condensate tank with a mild bleach solution, then rinse with clean water and dry.
  • Run a hot maintenance cycle: Run the dryer empty on the hottest program for 30–40 minutes to help dry and sanitize internal surfaces.
  • Improve ventilation: Ensure the laundry room is well ventilated and the dryer is not pushed tightly against walls blocking air inlets.
