Possible Causes

Open-circuit NTC sensor on heater housing, Shorted NTC sensor, Loose or corroded NTC connector, Damaged wiring harness between NTC and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer and allow it to cool completely before working near the heater or exhaust duct.

  • Access the NTC sensor: On many Liebherr dryers, the NTC is mounted on the heater housing or exhaust duct at the rear or base. Remove the rear panel or lower front access panel as applicable.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the two-wire connector to the NTC. Ensure it is firmly seated and free of corrosion or heat damage.
  • Test the NTC: Disconnect the sensor and measure its resistance with a multimeter at room temperature. Compare to the service manual spec (commonly around 5–20 kΩ at 20–25°C). Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a faulty sensor.
  • Check harness continuity: If the NTC tests good, check continuity from the NTC connector back to the main control PCB. Repair any broken or pinched wires.
  • Replace if faulty: If the NTC is out of spec, replace it with the correct Liebherr temperature sensor. Reassemble panels, restore power, and run a test cycle.
