Possible Causes
Faulty ambient NTC sensor near air intake, Loose sensor connector, Damaged wiring harness to control board, Control board sensor input failure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.
- Locate ambient sensor: On many Liebherr dryers, an NTC sensor is located near the air intake or front panel to measure room/inlet air temperature.
- Inspect and reseat connector: Ensure the sensor plug is firmly connected and free of corrosion or damage.
- Measure resistance: Remove the sensor and test its resistance at room temperature with a multimeter. Compare to the specified value in the service documentation. Replace if out of range.
- Check wiring: Verify continuity from the sensor connector to the main control PCB. Repair any damaged wires.
- Board evaluation: If the sensor and wiring are correct but F9 persists, the main control board may have a defective sensor input circuit and require replacement.
