Possible Causes
Blown mains fuse in plug, Faulty power cord, Failed mains filter, Faulty main control PCB power supply section
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the socket is switched off before inspecting the plug. Do not work on live circuits.
- Check wall outlet: Test the outlet with another appliance to confirm it has power.
- Inspect plug and fuse (UK models): Open the plug (if non-moulded) and check the fuse. Replace with the correct rating if blown. If it blows again immediately, there is likely an internal short.
- Check power cord: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks. Replace the cord if damaged.
- Inspect mains filter and terminal block: Remove the rear cover and check the mains entry components for signs of burning or loose connections. Tighten terminals and replace burnt parts.
- If still dead: The internal power supply on the main control PCB may have failed. Board replacement is usually required and should be done by a qualified technician.
