Possible Causes
Internal short on main control PCB, Shorted heater element to chassis, Damaged mains filter (EMI filter), Loose mains terminal block connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer and, if the breaker has tripped, reset it only after inspection. Risk of electric shock and fire if shorts are not corrected.
- Inspect mains cable and plug: Check for cuts, burns, or loose pins. Replace the cable or plug if damaged.
- Check terminal block: Remove the rear cover over the mains terminal block (where the power cord enters). Tighten any loose screws and look for signs of overheating or melted plastic. Replace the block if damaged.
- Inspect the EMI filter: The mains filter module is usually near the cable entry. Look for bulging, cracking, or burn marks. Replace if suspect.
- Check heater to chassis: With a multimeter set to continuity, test between each heater terminal and the metal chassis. Any continuity indicates a shorted heater that must be replaced.
- Control PCB: If all external components test OK but E09 persists, the main control board may have an internal fault. Board replacement should be carried out by a qualified technician.
