Possible Causes

Failed start relay on main PCB, Burnt relay contacts, Cold solder joints on relay pins, Overheated PCB tracks in motor or heater circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the dryer. Working on live circuits is dangerous.

  • Access the main PCB: Remove the top cover and any protective housing over the control board.
  • Visual inspection: Look for relays (small rectangular components) on the board. Check for discoloration, cracking, or burnt areas around them.
  • Check solder joints: Inspect the underside of the PCB (if accessible) for cracked or dull solder joints on the relay pins. Reflowing solder should only be done by someone experienced with electronics.
  • Listen for relay click: With the dryer reassembled and plugged in, start a cycle and listen for a click from the board. No click may indicate a failed relay or control signal.
  • Replace PCB if needed: As relays are often not user-serviceable on these boards, replacing the entire main control PCB is the usual repair.
