Possible Causes
Faulty ambient temperature sensor (if fitted), Sensor wiring damage, Control PCB misreading sensor, Dryer installed in very cold environment
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dryer before accessing sensors or control boards.
- Check installation environment: Ensure the dryer is not installed in an unheated garage or very cold room. Extremely low ambient temperatures can affect sensor readings and heat pump performance.
- Locate ambient sensor: Some Logik models have an additional NTC sensor near the air intake or control panel. Inspect the sensor and wiring for damage.
- Test sensor resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare with service data if available. Open or shorted readings indicate a faulty sensor.
- Inspect PCB connections: Ensure the sensor connector on the main PCB is firmly seated.
- If E18 persists: Replace the ambient sensor if faulty. If the sensor tests OK, the main control PCB may require replacement.
