Dryer drum light stays on even when the door is closed, or never comes on at all.

Safety First: Unplug the dryer before replacing bulbs or switches.

• Step 1 – Replace bulb: Remove the drum light cover and replace the bulb with the correct type and wattage specified by Maytag.
• Step 2 – Test door switch: If the light stays on with the door closed, test the door switch for proper operation and continuity. Replace if stuck or faulty.
