Dryer makes a loud thumping or banging noise as the drum turns.

Safety First: Unplug the dryer before opening the cabinet.

• Step 1 – Check for drum contents: Run the dryer briefly and listen. Stop the dryer, unplug it, and inspect inside the drum for heavy items (shoes, zippers, buttons) causing noise. Remove or cushion such items.
• Step 2 – Inspect drum seam and baffles: Look for coins or small objects stuck at the drum seam or under baffles. Remove any debris.
• Step 3 – Access rollers and belt: Remove the front panel and drum to inspect the support rollers and belt. Replace rollers that are flat-spotted or noisy and install a new belt if worn.
• Step 4 – Check blower wheel: Inspect the blower wheel for looseness on the motor shaft or debris inside. Tighten or replace if necessary.
• Step 5 – Test operation: Reassemble and run a cycle to confirm the thumping noise is resolved.
