Possible Causes
Over-drying due to sensor misread, Using high heat for delicate fabrics, Not using cool-down period, Faulty moisture sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: No internal repair is required initially.
- Step 1 – Adjust settings: Use lower heat settings and select Wrinkle Prevent or similar options to tumble clothes after drying.
- Step 2 – Avoid over-drying: Use automatic (sensor) cycles instead of timed high-heat cycles for most loads.
- Step 3 – Clean moisture sensors: Clean the metal moisture sensor bars inside the drum with rubbing alcohol to remove residue that can cause over-drying.
- Step 4 – Load size and removal: Do not overload the dryer and remove clothes promptly at the end of the cycle to reduce wrinkles and static.
- Step 5 – Sensor replacement (if needed): If clothes are still consistently over-dried on sensor cycles, the moisture sensor or control may be faulty and should be inspected and replaced as needed.
