Possible Causes
Dryer not level, Worn or missing leveling feet, Dryer stacked improperly on washer, Loose internal components
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer before adjusting feet or accessing internal parts.
- Step 1 – Level the dryer: Place a level on top of the dryer. Adjust the leveling feet so the dryer is level front-to-back and side-to-side. Tighten lock nuts if present.
- Step 2 – Check floor stability: Ensure the floor is solid and not flexing. Avoid installing on soft or uneven surfaces.
- Step 3 – Verify stacking kit (if stacked): If the dryer is stacked on a Maytag washer, confirm that the correct stacking kit is installed and all brackets are tight.
- Step 4 – Inspect internal supports: If vibration persists, remove the top and front panels and check that drum supports, motor mounts, and blower housing screws are tight.
- Step 5 – Load size: Avoid drying a single heavy item (like a large blanket) alone, as it can cause imbalance. Add a few smaller items to distribute weight.
