Possible Causes
Clogged lint screen housing, Blocked blower wheel, Obstructed exhaust duct, Faulty exhaust thermistor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety First: Unplug the dryer and shut off gas (if applicable) before servicing. Wear gloves to avoid cuts from sharp metal.
- Step 1 – Clean lint path: Remove the lint screen and vacuum inside the lint housing. Remove the front or rear panel to access the blower housing and clear any lint clumps.
- Step 2 – Inspect blower wheel: Check that the blower wheel is not clogged with lint or debris and that it spins freely on the motor shaft. Replace if cracked or loose.
- Step 3 – Check exhaust vent: Disconnect the vent hose and inspect for lint buildup or obstructions all the way to the exterior hood. Clean thoroughly.
- Step 4 – Test exhaust thermistor: Locate the exhaust thermistor on the blower housing and test its resistance at room temperature. Replace if out of specification.
- Step 5 – Reassemble and test: After cleaning and any part replacement, reassemble the dryer, restore power, and run a timed dry cycle to confirm F30 is cleared and airflow is strong at the vent outlet.
